Swidnik

Our town

Swidnik is a small town in the east of Poland, about 200 km from Warsaw, the capital of Poland. It has got about 40 000 citizens.

The town was founded in the 1950's. Most people live in blocks of flats, near the centre. There are also a few residential areas where people live in detached and semi-detached houses. Swidnik is famous for a helicopter factory.

 

 

         
A new airport is being built in Swidnik and the first planes are expected to take off in October 2012.

 

Our school

The name of our school is Zespół Szkół nr 2, Gimnazjum nr 3. We are jumior high school where there are students at the age of 13-16. The school offers general education. There are about 600 students and 60 teachers. Our school is situated close to the town center. We have very good sports facilities: a swimming pool, a big sports hall, outdoor game fields (football, basketball, voleyball, tennis) and in the winter we always have a skate rink. In the same building there is also a primary school.

        

 

International cooperation

Our school cooperates with many schools from all over the world. There have been student exchanges since 1999 and we have been cooperating with school from: the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Hungary, Spain and the US.
